Credit Card Processing With a Go Daddy-Hosted Website May Not be PCI-DSS Compliant
The fine folks at iSupportU brought this to our attention and we were able to verify, but if you are on a basic web-hosting package with GoDaddy and not using their Shopping Cart Program, there are vulnerabilities that may make it impossible to ensure that your site is PCI-DSS compliant.
Here’s a note from GoDaddy’s own support site. While some of these entries are fairly old, we have determined the issues raised continue to be a problem. Most PCI services have trouble scanning GoDaddy-hosted sites and certifying them as compliant unless a GoDaddy-specific shopping cart is being utilized. If you have any questions on your hosting service, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
