FAQQuestions? We have answers
We take pride in demystifying payment processing. Here is the detail on pricing, switching, funding and compliance.
Getting started and pricing
I have never accepted credit cards before - can you still help?
Yes. You do not need any prior processing history to work with AdvoCharge. We will set you up from scratch on transparent interchange pricing.
How can your rates be so low?
AdvoCharge is an independent merchant services provider - a broker. We work with multiple national processors and place your account wherever it earns the best rate, on interchange-plus pricing rather than tiered markups.
Why do processing rates vary so much?
Card processing pricing works a little like airline pricing - many factors feed the final number. That is exactly why an independent review matters. We benchmark your account against the lowest rates available nationally.
Switching and support
Do I have to change how I take payments?
No. You keep your current workflow - terminals, virtual terminal, mobile and online. We change the pricing behind it, not your day-to-day.
Is there a long-term contract or cancellation fee?
No early termination or cancellation fees - ever. Processing fees are assessed in arrears, and you are free to leave at any time.
How long does sign-up take?
Sign-up takes about five minutes through an online application with a virtual signature. Approval generally takes about a day, followed by three to four business days before the account can accept payments.
What does support look like?
AdvoCharge acts as a second-tier line of support, and you also have 24/7/365 access to the processor directly. We route incoming contact through email so we can respond quickly and keep a clear record.
Funding and operations
When do I get my money?
Funding is next-day on your sales. Weekend sales settle and fund on Monday.
Which cards can I accept?
All major card types, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and UnionPay.
Do you support B2B processing?
Yes. Level 2 and Level 3 processing is available for business-to-business transactions, and currency conversion is available for international sales.
Eligibility and compliance
What do I need to qualify?
A business checking account is required. If you sell online, your website needs visible terms of service and a privacy policy to qualify.
Are any business types restricted?
Yes. Certain categories cannot be supported - for example adult entertainment, bankruptcy attorneys, collection agencies, non-licensed counseling centers, credit-restoration services, internet firearm sales and internet gambling, among others. Contact us and we will confirm whether your business qualifies.
How does PCI compliance work?
PCI-DSS compliance is an ongoing requirement for every business that accepts payment cards. See our Security and PCI-DSS page for what it involves and how we help you stay compliant.
See what you are overpaying
Send us a recent processing statement. We will analyze it and report back in plain language - what you pay now, and what you would pay with AdvoCharge.
